Together we are Brethren
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is a global Christian Community with over 55,000 members.
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is a mainstream Christian church built upon the core values of faith, community and moral integrity.
Our way of life
Established around 200 years ago, the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC) was founded by John Nelson Darby, one of the most influential Protestant thinkers of the 19th century.
Today, we have just over 55,000 members in our Community. We live in regular homes on ordinary streets, in towns and cities across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North and South America, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom.
Our members operate their own businesses, buy houses, shop locally, volunteer and do charitable work, pay taxes and employ many people from both within our Community and outside.
Over the years, we have had to adapt. We use technology for business, education and household reasons.
Our community
At the heart of our Community is a commitment to care and compassion. We dedicate our time and contribute financially to many causes. We actively seek opportunities to support local, regional and global initiatives.
Our members, many of whom operate family-owned businesses, play a vital role in driving the local economy where we live, work and serve. We contribute directly by paying taxes, employing local people, and improving amenities.
Our resourceful and innovative members form a global Community that can swiftly mobilise diverse skill sets and tangible assets to support during global crises. Together, we leverage our network of members to make a positive impact on the world.
OneSchool Global
Education is important to us. OneSchool Global (OSG) is attended by families of our Church and has over 120 campuses in 20 countries, teaching 8,000 students and employing over 1,800 teachers and staff from outside our Community. Many school alumni go on to work in a family business and engage in tertiary education.
Rapid Relief Team
Inspired by community spirit and the gift of giving, the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) serves people with care and compassion in their time of need. Established by the PBCC in 2013, RRT offers tangible support to charities, government and emergency services confronting some of humankind’s greatest challenges.
Any questions?
Sometimes our Community is misunderstood. We understand that we do things a little differently, so we’ve answered your questions to help address some of the myths that exist about us and our way of life.
