Marriage is honoured and celebrated within the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church as a sacred covenant.
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church follows the Biblical view of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and woman. This is in line with millions of Christians around the world.
Our fellowship sees marriage as a sacred commitment witnessed before God and the community. Wedding ceremonies, while joyful celebrations, carry profound spiritual significance.
Young people within the Plymouth Brethren community are also encouraged to approach relationships with respect and humility. With a shared faith, values, and way of life, the vast majority of members marry within the fellowship.
As a result of these shared values, divorces between members of the Plymouth Brethren community are rare. This is the result of strong faith foundations, community support, and commitment to marriage.
Couples experiencing difficulties are supported by family and trusted members of the community. Where possible, the goal is reconciliation and restoration to help keep families together.
